    POSTURES

    Learn the art of sequencing for pregnancy yoga classes and understand the contraindications for pregnancy.

    ANATOMY

    How the pelvis is designed for labour. Active birth positions and pelvic floor exercises. How the body changes during pregnancy.

    Breathing for pregnancy and birth. Understand how the nervous system impacts labour and birth and how the breath can help birth progress.

    Drawing influences from hypnobirthing, learn how to incorporate powerful and memorable guided relaxations into your classes.

  • Module Five

    BIRTH PHYSIOLOGY

    Understand how birth works, how to optimise physiology, the hormones of birth and variations of birth including induction of labour and c-section.

    Design yoga classes suitable for the postnatal body including how to include babies in the class.

    CHILDBIRTH AS A RITE OF PASSAGE

    Reframing birth as something to be honoured rather than feared. Understand how motherhood fits into the seasons of a woman’s life. Inspiration for rituals and womens circles as additional offerings.

By the end of the course you will:

  • Be able to teach engaging and appropriate pregnancy and postnatal yoga classes

  • Understand the physiology of birth, birth variations and how best to support women through yoga

  • Effectively use props including blocks, bolsters and birth balls

  • Adapt classes to suit pregnant and postnatal bodies as well as accommodate injuries and common symptoms such as pelvic girdle pain

  • Have a blueprint to deliver a 6 week pregnancy yoga course including class plans, relaxation scripts and themed content.

  • Be able to confidently host a ‘baby and me’ class

  • Join a collective of pregnancy and postnatal yoga teachers for ongoing support

Meet Katie

Katie is a yoga teacher specialising in pregnancy and postnatal yoga. Known as ‘The Pregnancy Yoga Teacher’ Katie’s passion is supporting women as they navigate the journey through pregnancy, birth and into motherhood.

Katie teaches in-person classes in her hometown of Clitheroe, Lancashire but her weekly online classes reach women all over the UK.

Her highly sought after 6 week pregnancy yoga course combines elements of yoga, antenatal education, evidence based scientific knowledge and spiritual wisdom to revolutionise pregnancy yoga and birth preparation as well as offering inclusive and supportive postnatal yoga classes.

She is a mum to Esme and Benjamin and following two very different births she is passionate about supporting all variations of pregnancy regardless of how the women choose to give birth.
